Natural Home Remedies for Shoulder Pain

A painful shoulder irritates more for the human beings. It will happen to all the age groups. Because of this bugging ache on the shoulder pain is that you cannot be able to concentrate on anything. Mainly shoulder pain causes due to prolonged sitting office hours in front of the computers. The lack of action causes muscles stiff that further increases the shoulder pain. The other reasons for shoulder pain may be an injury to the muscles, soft tissues, & ligaments of joints strained muscles. You can get many balms from shops for the relief of shoulder pain & other medicines in a market, but all those will come with side effects. For minor shoulder pains, you can depend on natural remedies that help in the treatment of shoulder pain. Below are the list of home remedies to reduce shoulder pain.

1. Turmeric

Turmeric is a potent pain reliever, whether used orally or applied directly to the affected area. Turmeric is anti-inflammatory in nature, therefore, can give release from the pain & swelling. Add a tablespoon of coconut oil to two tablespoons of turmeric powder to make the paste. Dab this paste on the affected area of the shoulder. Let it dry, and rinse off with warm water afterward. Apply this paste two times a daily until you get relief from pain.

Otherwise, you can also add a tsp of turmeric in a cup of milk & stir well. Boil this mixed milk & add honey for sweet taste. Drink it twice a day to help the healing process.

Note: Don’t eat too much of turmeric, if you are using blood-thinning medicines.

2. Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple Cider Vinegar is a one stop solution to treat many disorders in the body. Apple Cider Vinegar acts as an anti-inflammatory & alkaline agent to give relief from the shoulder pain. You can get a bath in the tub filled with warm water after combining two cups of raw & unfiltered ACV to it. Sit in that water for about 20 to 30 minutes to relax the body. Do it every day for a few days to get continued relief.

Alternatively, mix a tablespoon of Apple Cider Vinegar in a glass of warm water & honey. Drink it, twice a day to promote the healing process.

3. Ginger

Ginger is also an anti-inflammatory agent; ginger is packed with many antioxidants too. It increases the blood circulation in the body and raises up the healing process. Add a teaspoon of thinly sliced ginger to two cups of boiling water allow boiling for about ten minutes. Strain it & add honey for sweet taste. Drink this decoction to treat the shoulder pain.

4. Olive Oil

Olive oil can give relief from the shoulder pain. It increases the blood circulation & lessens stiffness and swelling. Warm some olive oil for few seconds and let it cool. Ask someone to rub it smoothly on the shoulder. Apply pressure & squeeze the shoulder muscles well to explain the stress. Do it for about ten minutes. Repeat this process for few times daily to get relief from the pain.

If shoulder pain has caused due to arthritis, then this is the best home remedy to get relief from pain. Mix juice of one lime to the glass of warm water. Add honey for sweet taste. Drink it daily to expel the toxins or unwanted substances out of the body.

6. Hot Water treatment

Hot water compress can heal the inflammation & swelling in the sore muscles of the shoulder. Fill the hot water bag & place it on the shoulder where you are getting pain while lying down conveniently on the bed. Keep it for about 10 to 15 minutes. Do it few times per day to get full relief from pain.

Note: Take care that water should not be too hot to burn skin

7. Black Sesame Seeds

Black sesame seeds are the good source of magnesium and calcium that improves the bone health. Besides, the existence of minerals like copper & zinc aids lessens joint pain & swelling. Take the full hand of black seeds & soak them in water overnight. Eat these seeds along with water in the morning. Perform this method for a few days to get the wanted results.

Or else, roast black sesame seeds & sprinkle them on the salad, soups or yogurt.

8. Garlic

Garlic is an excellent anti-inflammatory agent. Take 3 to 4 cloves of garlic & mash them after discarding the skin. Heat it in the quarter cup of the mustard oil. Apply this oil on the shoulder and massage smoothly. It will alleviate the pain.

9. Epsom Salt

Epsom salt can give relief from the shoulder pain as it increases the blood circulation & release the stress not only from the shoulder but also from the complete body. Fill your bathtub with the lukewarm water. Then add two cups of Epsom salt in it. Stir completely so that the salt gets dissolved in water correctly. Now, sit in this water with the shoulders immersed for about 20to 25 minutes. Repeat this method three times a week to get good results.

Otherwise, you can soak the towel in warm water combined with Epsom salt. Put this towel on the shoulder to get relief from shoulder pain.

10. Lavender Oil

Lavender oil is one of an amazing essential oil that can help to relax tired muscles. It helps in lessening the pain as well as inflammation.

Combine a few drops of lavender essential oil in 1 – 2 tbsp of warm olive oil. Apply it to massage the stiff and aching shoulder muscles for about 10 minutes, apply two times daily for a few days.
