A person with belly fat may face risk of heart diseases and other health complications. In addition thereto, belly fat may affect the person’s mood and behavior. In an article which appeared in the American Journal of Epidemiology, it is said that people with belly fat usually suffer from depression due to failure to lose weight. The person may also suffer from insecurity due to his appearance.

So, how do we get rid of belly fat?

  1. Exercise regularly. Thirty minutes of vigorous exercise four times a week will help you shed those pounds off your belly. You don’t have to enroll in gym classes or do sophisticated forms of exercises. Even doing household chores may help you trim your belly fat.
  2. Eat a balanced and healthy diet. The earlier extra calories and fat are eliminated from your diet, the greater the chances of slimming down that belly fat. Nutritionists suggest eating more fiber-rich foods.
  3. Get enough sleep. Sleep eight or more hours a day so as to avoid accumulating belly fat.
  4. Avoid stress. Stress makes you crave for high-calorie snacks which leads to larger waistline
