Saffron is added to the sweet dishes & also curries. It gives the rich colour to the dish. Saffron tea is also made by boiling the few strands of saffron in water & then adding the little sugar or honey to it.

The carotenoids present in saffron would protect the eyes from macular degeration which is the common cause of blindness. It supplies with vitamin A that is much required for eye health. Saffron prevents cataract & also offers protection to the eyes from sun’s harmful rays.
