Pimples can be caused due to inflammation due to bacteria or some allergy. Pimples on lips are a particularly annoying problem due to its prominence and proximity to the mouth. There is nothing unsexier than having a pimple on your lip so here is how you get rid of a pimple on your lip quickly and effectively:
Use benzyl peroxide: This is a very effective anti-bacterial substance. It is an extremely effective treatment for pimples and will remove acne around your lips very fast and quickly. There needs to be caution while using benzyl peroxide and care so that it does not enter the mouth. Benzyl peroxide can be purchased over the counter and is extremely effective in curing pimples
Hold ice on the pimple: This is a very effective and natural way of removing pimples if the problem is not severe and the problem is just a couple of prominent pimples around the lips. Wrap an ice cube in a towel or a napkin and apply it to the affected area for a few seconds at a time. Repeat the process for about 2 -4 minutes, depending on the size of a pimple. The Ice will reduce the inflammation and with it get rid of a pimple.
Steam the pimple: Again, this is very effective on mild pimples. You have to expose a pimple around your lips to steam for about half an hour. This will kill all the bacteria in a pimple which causes the inflammation. This is totally safe and natural making this one of the safest ways to get rid of mild pimples around your lips.
Apply lemon juice to a pimple: The acidity of lemon juice will kill any bacteria in a pimple and reduce the inflammation around your lips. Soak cotton in lemon juice and rub it on the pimple around your lip for about 2 minutes, repeat the process 5-6 times.
Apply toothpaste on the pimple: It contains silica, which will dehydrate the area thus reducing the inflammation. This is one of the lesser known but highly effective ways of removing pimples around your lips.
Apply some salicylic acid: This should not be used unless a pimple refuses to go away after using milder techniques. The acid will kill any bacteria and will wipe out the inflammation, this is highly effective but is to be used only in severe and stubborn cases.
The techniques mentioned above will get rid of any mild to moderately server pimple infection around your lips, however, in case the pimples persist, and then you might have to consult a doctor as I could mean a more severe infection.
Remember that once you have gotten rid of a pimple, it is important that you do not use gloss or balm on that area as oil or moisture deposit will lead to recurrence of a pimple. Also keeping your area lip germ free by washing it regularly and not allowing food particles to accumulate will also help you to avoid bacteria that causes pimples.
