It is summer time. For children, it is just start of an thrilling and fun summer vacation. Even though parents want their kids to make most of their holidays, they are always concerned about their children’s safety and health. Drink plenty of water:

Excess heat during thee summer causes dehydration which leads to weakness. It is very important for children to stay hydrated in this summer with water, lime juice and fruit juices that help immediately recharge body’s lost fluids. Also, children should have at least 8 to 10 glasses of water per day and even when they are not thirsty. This helps to keep dehydration at bay and rejuvenates their exhausted body.

Wear loose, full-sleeved cotton clothes and a hat:Tips to keep your kids cool in summer

Encourage children to wear light-colored fabrics covering the exposed areas to keep their body cool and protect their skin from harmful UV rays of sun. Children should also use the hat with a edge to protect their head from sun.

Apply sunscreen and insect disgusting:

In this summers, children should apply the sunscreen first followed by insect disgusting on their skin. They should apply the water-resistant sunscreen at least SPF 30 for 15 to 30 minutes before endeavouring into the open, to protect themselves from the both UVA and UVB rays. They should also apply the insect repellents to avoid insect bites that can cause infections and rashes.

Stay indoors:

Children should stay indoors in case of excessive sunny conditions. They should avoid exposure to direct sun between 11 am and 4 pm and should enjoy their outdoor activities during the cooler parts of the day.

Eat light, small, often meals and contain salad in your diet:

With so much vigor necessary to play and enjoy, it is very important for children to have healthy, nutritious food during this summers for their daily increase of energy. Children should have sweet, juicy fruits for breakfast and consume lots of seasonal fruits such as peaches, plums, melons and pears. They should also avoid red meat during summers and incorporate salads in their diet as fruits and leafy vegetables contain important amounts of water which has the cooling effect on the body.
